'Richard has surveyed a number of vessels for me, and I must say the advice and the service have been second to none. Had it not been for their professionalism and skill I would have paid good money where I should not. I cannot thank them enough'.

Yacht & Motor Boat Insurance Surveyors

Super Yacht Insurance and Motor Boat Insurance Surveyors. Our marine surveys are periodically required by the Yacht Insurance company to enable them to have a clear understanding of the asset that is being insured. It would also be used to highlight any issues that could potentially lead to a claim.

The insurance survey is fundamentally the same as the pre-purchase survey since the surveyor still needs to fully inspect the vessel and document the findings.  The insurance company will normally request an out of water inspection is carried out.

Apart from the insurance company perspective, it does offer the owner of having a professional evaluate the vessel.  Even the most experienced seafarers have benefited through myself going through the vessel in detail. Unfortunately, surveyors get to see things after they have gone wrong. Therefore, the survey could be deemed a ‘health check’ for the boat where the owner gets value out of it.

The primary function is to ascertain the structural integrity of the yacht and core systems such as mast, sails or engines. In order to give a full evaluation an out of water survey would be required.

A valuation will be added to the survey if required. Please read our "Valuation Survey" section for a full explanation.
